- Starting with the premise that it is preferable to engage in behavior that materially improves the quality of our lives, rather than behavior that negatively impacts the quality of our lives, we then need to determine what we can do to materially improve the quality of our lives.
Let us start with a single major premise that we can all easily accept and then work with it from there
First, be aware that we are not seperate or alone. In reality, we are a part of it ALL, i.e. ALL THERE IS. We are a part of it ALL,dealing with Itself, through us
Accordingly, be aware that the power and intelligence of it ALL, at all times, flows through, within, and is a part of us.
As a result, we come to see that, as long as we are aware of, and consciously connected to, that immense source of power that exists within us, we are fully able to apply that power and intelligence to materially improve the quality of our lives
Being there for, and actually consciously showing up for each and every moment of our life, as we are living our life, materially improves the quality of our lives. This may also be referred to as living our lives in a pro-active, rather than merely a re-active, manner.
Being conscious of, and connected to, a real source of power and intelligence that at all times exists within us and which we can always apply to improve the quality of our lives, eliminates / reduces the feelings of vulnerability, ineffectivenes, hopelessness, and fear ("Negative Feelings") that can, at times, appear "overwhelming" and can result in addictive, narcissistic, or other forms of self-destructive behaviors.
Being most kind, loving, and generous with ourselves, as well as treating ourselves well at all times and under all circumstances, minimizes our desire and motvation to be selfish or narcissistic, and materially improves the quality of our lives .
Applying these lessons, we come to appreciate that, although we will not be able to exercize total control over all the events that effect our lives in the "outside world", we do have considerable control over our internal outlook and attitude about whatever happens in the "outside world" ("our serenity") so that we can, at all times and under all circumstances, remain appreciative of, and have gratitude for, this opportunity we have received to experience this life of ours.
Finally,
if not most significantly, treating others as we ourselves would like to be treated by others, not only benefits others, but also materially improves the quality of our own lives.
